Our Founder: Ian Murphy
– The Man Who Risked It All for Freedom
Ian Murphy isn’t a politician. He’s a businessman, a patriot, and a fighter. As owner of Iron Pig Smokehouse in Gaylord, Michigan, Ian became a household name for one simple reason: he refused to let the government destroy his livelihood.
In 2020, while politicians and bureaucrats hid behind “emergency orders,” Ian kept the Smokehouse open. He served his community, fed his neighbors, and paid his employees—because the Michigan Constitution still mattered.
The state came after him hard: suspended liquor and food licenses, issued fines, and threatened jail. But Ian didn’t back down.
Working shoulder-to-shoulder with local attorney David Delaney, Ian took the fight to court. They challenged the unconstitutional delegation of legislative power to unelected health departments. They exposed the illegal overreach. And they won.
- A Michigan judge ruled key parts of the state’s public health emergency statutes unconstitutional.
- Fines were thrown out. Licenses were restored.
- The Health Department of Northwest Michigan ultimately declined to appeal—a total victory.
That wasn’t the end. It was just the beginning.
Today, Ian Murphy is leading the charge against the next wave of government-enabled destruction: industrial-scale solar developments tearing through Michigan’s forests, farmland, and rural communities.
Big renewable developers, backed by state law (Public Act 233), are trying to bypass local zoning and ram massive solar farms through against the will of the people. Ian and his legal team have already forced projects into court, exposing violations of state solar laws and county ordinances. They’ve uncovered the loopholes that keep power where it belongs—in the hands of local communities.
Ian’s message is clear: If they can come for your business, your land, and your way of life, they can come for anyone’s.
